Freesia by Bath & Body Works

This is an ode to Freesia’s representation in the 90s & early aughts. She was everywhere, in every blend, so pervasive that Bath & Body Works decided to make her a soliflore in their original collection of fragrances. I believe its popularity stems from the fact that its sweetness is almost reminiscent of ripe fruits. That’s right—this floral is nearly a fruity floral all her own. Because of this, the note is as singed into our collective memory as the celeb fragrances that would harness her strength for years to come.

BBW was just ahead of the curve creating this note as a great unifier. If you had frosted eyelids paired with Great Lash mascara, this was your juice. If you were redecorating your room and included both fiber optic lamps AND light bulbs with silicone spikes, this was for you. Lastly, if your wrist was adorned with at least ten jelly bracelets, this was for you.

Freesia’s other notes include jasmine, cyclamen and musk. In real life you’ll smell as uncomplicated as Hoku’s Perfect Day.
